Greater Boston's
Certified Tech Recycler
RIOS Certified tech recycling for corporations, hospitals, schools, and government — secure data destruction, zero landfill, and full compliance documentation since 2009.
What Is Tech Recycling — and Why Does Certification Matter?
Tech recycling is the certified process of collecting retired electronic devices, destroying all data they contain, and responsibly recycling or remarketing their components — ensuring nothing enters a landfill and no sensitive data is ever exposed.
Not all tech recyclers are created equal. Uncertified operators may wipe drives incompletely, export materials to overseas dumping sites, or provide paperwork that won't hold up in a compliance audit. Tech Recycling Solutions holds RIOS Certified Recycler status — the gold standard in responsible recycling — alongside ISO 45001, WOSB, BBB A+, and SAM.gov registration. Every process is independently audited annually.
Since 2009, we have provided tech recycling to more than 10,000 Greater Boston businesses, hospitals, schools, and government agencies — from single-laptop pickups to full data center decommissioning projects. Your information is never resold, and your waste is never dumped.

Our Tech Recycling Process
Six fully documented steps — from your door to certified recycling.
Call (508) 466-6100, fill out our online booking form, or chat with a representative. We require just 24 hours notice and dispatch a certified team to your location — no charge for qualifying business pickups.
Background-checked, uniformed technicians arrive on time with GPS-tracked, locked vehicles. Every device is inventoried and logged at pickup. Chain-of-custody documentation starts the moment we take possession.
Every storage device is either wiped to NIST 800-88 Rev 1 standards or physically shredded on-site. Your data never leaves your premises intact. A Certificate of Data Destruction is issued for every drive.
Once at our certified facility, equipment is audited, cataloged, and dismantled in an environmentally responsible way. Reusable components are identified for remarketing — the rest is routed to certified downstream recyclers.
You receive a Certificate of Recycling, Certificate of Data Destruction, weight manifest, and a full audit report. No payment is ever exchanged on-site. All documentation is delivered within 24 hours of processing.
Every component is responsibly recycled or remarketed. Nothing enters a landfill. Our downstream vendors are audited annually, and we provide full transparency across the entire recycling chain.

Tech Recycling — Frequently Asked Questions
Tech recycling — also called electronics recycling or e-waste recycling — is the certified collection, data destruction, and responsible processing of retired electronic devices. It matters because improper disposal of computers, phones, and other electronics releases toxic materials like lead, mercury, and cadmium into the environment. Massachusetts law also prohibits most electronics from being disposed of in regular trash, meaning businesses face legal liability for non-compliance.
Pickup is complimentary for qualifying business volumes in Greater Boston and surrounding areas. For smaller quantities, drop-off at our Waltham, MA facility is available by appointment. Contact us for exact thresholds and pricing for your specific volume and location.
